The Cartel presented, for the first time, a Solo Show of the World’s First 3D Printed Haute Couturier Iris Van Herpen. The exhibition featured twelve unique Haute Couture dresses each coming from one of the designer’s original runway pieces and including iconic dresses such as the Snake Dress and the Metallic Dress worn by Lady Gaga, including pieces from the designer’s debut 3D printing runway show. The sculpture-like dresses used a fusion of various technologies, often resulting from Van Herpen’s collaborations with architects and scientists, such as 3D Printing, glass blowing and robotic weaving. The exhibition, debuted at the Cartel, was later taken to the New York Streaming Museum and was considered one of the region’s first highlights of wearable technology.
